Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) is a linear polymer compound. Due to its multiple active groups, it exhibits affinity for various materials and forms hydrogen bonds. It is primarily used for the agglomeration of negatively charged colloids and performs functions such as turbidity removal, decolorization, adsorption, and binding. Cationic polyacrylamide is suitable for the treatment of wastewater with a high content of organic colloids in industries such as printing and dyeing, papermaking, the food industry, construction, metallurgy, mineral processing, coal dust, oil production, aquatic product processing, and fermentation. It is particularly suitable for the dewatering of municipal wastewater, municipal sludge, papermaking sludge, and other industrial sludges.

Properties of cationic polyacrylamide :
※ Cationic polyacrylamide. Appearance: White powder or granules.
※ Solid content: ≥90%
※ Molecular weight: 800 million – 1.2 billion
※ Insoluble matter: ≤0.5%
※ Residue: ≤0.05%
※ Cationicity: 10-90%
※ Thawing time: ≤60 minutes
Applications:
1) Sludge drying: Different grades of cationic polyacrylamide can be selected depending on the sludge properties . The sludge is effectively dried before being fed into the filter press. During the drying process, large clumps form that do not adhere to the filter cloth. The sludge is dispersed and dense. The drying process is rapid, and the moisture content is below 80%.
2) In the treatment of domestic and organic wastewater, cationic polyacrylamide products exhibit a positive charge in a compatible or alkaline environment, making them highly effective in the flotation sedimentation of wastewater and suspended solids in negatively charged wastewater. For example, cationic polyacrylamide is used in wastewater from grain alcohol production, paper production, municipal wastewater treatment plants, breweries, monosodium glutamate-containing wastewater, sugar production wastewater, wastewater with high organic content, food wastewater, as well as wastewater from textile enterprises, printing and dyeing substances, and others. Since these wastewaters are generally negatively charged , the effect of anionic polyacrylamides or inorganic salts is much stronger, even more so.
3) Used as an additive for river water. Its application range is limited, its efficiency is high, and its cost is low. It is particularly suitable for use with mineral additives. It is used for river water in the Yangtze and Huanghe Rivers, and other basins. Our product is highly effective.
Application of cationic polyacrylamide
1) Determine the best machine model and product dosage through small-scale experiments.
2) This product is manufactured as a 0.2% aqueous solution (based on dry matter content). It is recommended to use neutral water without salts .
3) Dissolve the product in water and spray evenly onto the stirred water. A suitable temperature (below 60 °C) accelerates the solution formation (stirring time approximately 40 minutes).
4) Do not pour solid foods onto the floor to prevent it from absorbing moisture and becoming slippery.
5) An aqueous polyacrylamide solution must be prepared in enamel, galvanized, aluminum or plastic containers and must not be prepared or stored in iron containers.
6) During dissolution , ensure that the product is added evenly and slowly to the solution, stir thoroughly, and heat. Do not allow to freeze. The solution should be prepared at a suitable temperature, avoiding mechanical influences. The mixer’s rotation speed should be between 60 and 200 rpm, otherwise the polymer will decompose and reduce its effectiveness.
7) The polyacrylamide solution should be disposed of immediately after use . With prolonged storage, its properties will gradually deteriorate depending on the water quality.
8) After adding an aqueous coagulant solution to the suspension, the lumps formed disappear if the suspension is stirred for a long time and vigorously.
Packaging, storage, handling and precautions for cationic polyacrylamide:
Solid products are packed in 25 kg paper bags with polyethylene inner sleeves or can be packed according to customer requirements.
The product is moisture-resistant and should be stored tightly closed in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 35°C. The shelf life is two years.
